Panelsamtalen fredag

Om det meste er opplagt - hvorfor grave dypere? Kan det være at det å finne gode svar krever mer arbeid enn det vi i vårt samfunn legger opp til? Må vi grave dypere? Hvordan? Bli med på en spennende panelsamtale med aktuelle bidragsytere. Deltakere er blant annet Toril Slåttsveen Asp og Endre Stene. Samtalen ledes av Steffen Stensland.

Med emnet “Å elske Gud av hele sitt hjerte” vil jeg formidle noe om hva som ligger i den bibelske forståelsen av det å elske, hva hjertet står for, og hvordan Gud har tenkt at dette skal uttrykke seg i våre liv.

Christians have long struggled with the relationship between their “spiritual life” and their daily lives in the world: sometimes these realms are blended together, sometimes wrongly divided. The Bible actually teaches a powerful and practical way to understand how a Christian is to live in a sinful world. This distinction/relationship is wonderfully presented for us in the teaching of Martin Luther.

With a firm understanding of the two realms within which Christians live, it is possible to consider practical applications both for the church and for our individual lives. The church is invested in the world, but never forsakes her primary task.  And redeemed believers see their work in the world as both service and evangelism. It is in this dynamic relationship of the two realms that we better understand vocation and witness.

Living a Sacramental Life (seminarvalg)

God loves his creation. He even uses created, material means to show his love for his creation and to redeem it. It was in a human body that he saved us, and with water, bread, and wine he gives his greatest spiritual gifts. Recognizing and receiving the goodness of the material nature of sacraments opens for Christians a new appreciation for the sacramental nature of many aspects of ordinary life.
